Our organization was formed for Any and All
Persons of mixed blood Aboriginal descent who self-identify as Metis (mixed
blood) with good Hearts to come together. Percentage of Indian Blood is not
considered. Our interest is in our Metis traditions, values,
culture, history, and the collective life of the Metis People. To read more, please see our
Mission Statement.
We are not federally recognized. If you
seek what you believe to be free college educations, land allotments, federal stipends for being Native
American, please apply to the Nation of your heritage. We encourage you to
follow all federal and state laws.
Before you join any Organization
As the internet continues to grow, more and more
organizations are springing up seeking Membership, trying to figure out
which one is right for you can be difficult. Here are some key points to
consider:
Is the mailing address and phone number
posted? Is it a business phone that someone regularly answers?
Are there real People with real names serving as
Directors/Council of the organization? If not, why not?
Is there a Privacy Policy? If not, what are they
going to do with your information?
What is the organization's Mission? Does it match what you are
looking for?
Is the organization addressing their Mission through
Programs and/or Services?
How does the organization support itself? If there
are no dues, are there any benefits?
What do you want from the organization? Are you
willing to give some of your own time and talents for the betterment of
the Metis People? Or just looking for a 'free' ride and a card to put in
your pocket and sit on?
Is the material presented straightforward?
And last, but certainly not least, what feeling do
you get when you visit the website or talk to them?
